Mount Rainier National Park Elopement

Heather and Chris live in Texas. They were planning to elope somewhere in the Paradise area of the park that can be accessed with less than 2 miles of hiking. They had never been to Mount Rainier before but did lots of research online. Before reaching out to me about their day, they had already been researching the various areas and decided that Paradise looked like it could offer a beautiful combination of mountains, trees, and meadows (which, it does!) Heather wanted a morning elopement so they could start their wedding day by going hiking, head to town for lunch, and just spend the day in their wedding attire (they didn’t want photo coverage outside of the elopement itself.) They got ready together at their Airbnb and Chris even learned how to bustle and un-bustle her dress so they could be prepared for the hike!

They wanted a low-key, romantic, and beautiful elopement day. One that was very much “them,” and that’s exactly what they got!

It just so happened that winter weather hit early this fall and the morning of their elopement it was in the low 30’s. It was crazy foggy, too. As Texans, this isn’t something they were used to, but they embraced it as a part of the adventure.

Heather was dreaming of photos surrounded by wildflowers. Of course we stayed on the trail but unfortunately there weren’t many flowers in sight! However, there was this meadow of yellow floral bursts that I used to frame them in photos as they were on the trail. After showing some back of camera photos Heather was so joyful. We got the fairytale photographs she wanted!

Since this was an elopement of just the two of them, they hired a local officiant, Bri, from the Tapestry Event Co. team. Myself and my second photographer signed their license as their sole witnesses.
