Gilded Glamor: An Enchanting Vintage-Inspired Styled Shoot
About This Shoot
In a hidden corner of the world, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of modernity, lies a vintage micro venue, The Parlor at Posh Vintage, located in the quaint borough of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Here, amidst the whispers of yesteryear, a whimsical, ethereal tea party unfolds, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a dreamlike experience.
The elegant space–built in the early 20th century–boasts grandeur from a bygone era. Stepping through the gate of an iron fence surrounding an English-style courtyard, one encounters a myriad of colorful, fragrant wildflowers that wave to visitors before they enter through the original wooden front door of this former abode.
Once inside, a painting seems to be brought to life. A beautiful vintage landscape mural in muted tones adorns the entire back wall. This focal point is illuminated by an ornate crystal chandelier that hangs from an original, center wood beam that has stood the test of time. Tables are styled with lace tablecloths scattered with moss and feature an assortment of blooms, miniature glass mushrooms and custom table numbers hand painted by Eduarda of Via Sketch Studio.
Each table is set with delicate mismatched floral plates, teapots, heirloom silver-plate flatware, hand-stitched linen napkins and colored goblets provided by Posh Vintage Rentals. Flowers, expertly styled by Made With Love Floral, spill from antique vases, adorn both exposed brick fireplaces and surround the Victorian-style brocade settee.
Our model, Amanda D’Antonio, is the guest of honor at this bridal tea and exhibits the beauty of timeless elegance. Taking advantage of the luxe surroundings at The Parlor, she arrives before her guests and commemorates her engagement and upcoming nuptials by indulging in a private photo shoot with Emma Dallman Photography. With her makeup applied and her hair romantically styled by Radiance by Ry, Amanda gracefully poses in dresses designed by Sherri Hill and lent by Eagle Formal Wear.
Emma captures not only stunning pictures of the bride-to-be but also every detail– small and large–of the captivating surroundings from the custom stationery, also by Via Sketch Studio, to the French macrons with delicate edible flowers by Kristen’s Kreations and luscious cakes and cookies by KP Cakes.
All of the vendors for this magical day are brought together and organized by Tara Thistlethwaite of Engaged Event Management. In collaboration with Susan Buzin, owner of The Parlor at Posh Vintage and Posh Vintage Rentals, Tara uses her expertise in bringing this vintage vision to life. As the afternoon sun begins to fade and the shadows lengthen, all participants bid farewell to each other and leave with fond memories of an enchanting afternoon.
Love Note:
When it comes to decor, Max-Glam should be on more people’s radars. Leave “keeping things simple” for the guest list!
What we Love
Color on Color
From the deep green to the jewel-toned pinks, everything POPS!
It’s So Fluffy!
Gowns with layers of ruffles for the win!
Sweet Tooth
When the floral themed deserts are almost too pretty to eat!
Timeless
Both playful and elegant, this event will always be in style.
Love Note:
Your location is as much apart of your decor as any flower, plate, or confection. This is mainly for buildings, but allow the character of a space to shine. Wood floors, exposed brick, dramatic ceilings – The Parlor Event Space has all of this, btw – should be focal points of your event design.
